“It is the mission of Early Intervention to provide meaningful and developmentally appropriate services to all eligible young children.”
The IU9 Early Intervention Program serves eligible young children, from age 3 to entrance to school age, and their families. Eligible children are those with a diagnosed disability or developmental delay who also are demonstrating a need for specially designed instruction.
- services may include: specialized instruction, hearing support, vision support, speech/language support, occupational therapy, physical therapy, transportation, and other services deemed necessary by the IEP team
- cost: free to eligible young children in need
- eligibility: determined by a multidisciplinary team evaluation (MDE)
- program options: there are a variety of program options based on the needs of your child
- referrals can be made by parents, early childhood providers, doctors, or other agencies
- staff includes certified teachers and therapists
- The Seneca Highlands I.U. 9 serves children in the following districts: Austin, Bradford, Cameron County, Coudersport, Galeton, Johnsonburg, Kane, Northern Potter, Oswayo Valley, Otto-Eldred, Port Allegany, Ridgway, St. Marys and Smethport
